As part of the “We will learn to make furniture” project, financed by the EU and the Government of Montenegro, a promotional meeting was held in Berane, which brought together several representatives of wood processing companies and potential trainees for the carpentry profession.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Nikola ltd and Arte home ltd from Beran, “Gradišta Komerc” ltd and KEA Kapetanović ltd from Bijelo Polje, Hiron ltd from Nikšić, Dubak ltd from Podgorica, Orion ltd from Pljevlja, Kriva Breza ltd from Plav  and Creative ltd from Rožaje.

At this meeting, the main objectives of the project were presented, which will be achieved through the training of personnel for the profession of carpenter , but also through the employment in the mentioned companies, as well as through the training in the Training Center.

The main objective of the project is to increase employment by training unemployed persons by increasing their key competencies, skills, and consequetly efficiency in the labor market.

All the activities of the project are directed towards supporting the development of greater finalization and productivity of the wood industry in Montenegro, and thus the impact on the reduction of the import of wooden furniture and construction carpentry. The biggest issues and challenges faced by the wood industry were also discussed at the meeting. The project is implemented by the Montenegrin Wood Cluster and the Association.
