The Municipality of Berane in partnership with the Regional Development Agency for Bjelasica, Komove and Prokletije implements the above mentioned project ILEP. The project is implemented with the financial support of the EU through the IPA II annual action program for Montenegro for 2020.

The project is implemented in the period from 01/10/2023 to 30/09/2024.

Within the project, the Berane wood processing association was appointed as the final beneficiary. In order to achieve project objectives and successful implementation of the project activities, the Municipality of Berane and the Association signed a memorandum of understanding (November 10, 2023).

The Association provided technical and logistical support for the training of 15 unemployed persons in the program of acquiring professional knowledge and skills in the field of woodworking – carpenter for furniture. The practical part of the training was organized in the plants of the members of the Association, and through the technical upgrade of the machinery, which included the purchase of two very valuable machines, the employment of new workers, who have successfully undergone training and obtained certificates, is enabled.

Overall objective: To enhance employability and inclusion of the long-term unemployed in the labour market of woodworking and tourism sectors by local employment partnership initiative

Specific objective 1: Created conditions for the opening of new jobs and increased employment opportunities in the wood processing sector.

Specific objective 2: Improved competences and employability of hard-to employ groups in the sectors of wood processing and tourism.
