is to improve the business of the members of the Association through cooperation and exchange of knowledge and , at the same time, ensure sustainable use of natural resources and contribute to the strengthening of the economy of Berane and Montenegro.
Our vision
is for Montenegro to become recognizable for its sustainable, innovative and competitive wood industry that contributes to the global market and creates long-term positive effects.
History
Association of woodworkers Berane (Association) was founded on February 11, 2015.year in Berane.
From its foundation until now, the Association has gained a reputation as a leading organization that gathers key actors of the wood industry in Berane and beyond, with the aim of strengthening competitiveness, innovation and sustainable development of this strategic sector.
The initiative to establish the Association came from the need for greater cooperation between companies, modernization of technologies and improvement of access to markets, as a response to the growing demands and challenges of the global economy.
From its beginning, the Association has been committed to creating an environment where innovation and sustainable development are at the center of business strategies. Over the years, numerous projects aimed at improving production processes, optimizing resources and implementing the latest technological solutions have been implemented.
The association has become a catalyst for the growth and development of small and medium-sized enterprises, creating a platform for networking, knowledge exchange and cooperation with domestic and international partners.
Today, the Association plays a key role in positioning the Montenegrin wood industry on the local and regional market. Its continuous commitment to strengthening competitiveness, promoting environmentally responsible practices and improving business efficiency makes the Association a leader in the field of wood processing in Berane and beyond.
- Gathering of wood processors from Berane and the northern region of Montenegro in order to support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the field of wood processing;
- Creating conditions for a better supply of raw materials (wood for production) to wood processors;
- Joint participation through the Association in achieving and protecting economic interests and business improvement;
- Better product placement and business network expansion;
- Advocating for the solution of specific problems in the field of wood processing and conquering new markets;
- Improvement of the production process and transition to final production;
- Introduction and monitoring of quality standards;
- Improvement of energy efficiency;
- Use of renewable energy sources;
- Development of culture and sports;
- Development of skills of young people from vulnerable groups in the field of wood processing;
- Protection and preservation of the environment.
- Promoting cooperation with competent authorities at the local and national level in order to achieve the objectives of the Association;

- Associating business capacities for the purpose of joint performance on the market;
- Harmonization of business policies and work on integration of business functions of members in order to develop market share;
- Advocacy for equality and equal participation of members in the area of procurement and sales and improvement of the product development policy of the wood processing industry;
- Advocating for suppression of unfair competition;
- Encouraging the development of new technologies;
- Joint participation in professional gatherings, fairs in the country and abroad;
- Establishing and maintaining communication and cooperation with other associations, bodies and organizations from the region and beyond for the purpose of solving problems in the field of wood processing.

Management Board
The Management Board of the Association consists of the experienced leaders and experts from the wood industry, who jointly manage the development of the Association and define the strategic directions of its activities.
Thr board meets regularly and makes decisions on initiatives, projects and collaborations that contribute to the improvement in the competitiveness and sustainability of the members of the Association.
The management board consists of the founders of the Association:
- MIT Berane ltd - represented by Mr. Mladen Šćekić
- Arte Home ltd - represented by Mr. Alen Korać.

MIT Berane
founded in 1951, is a pioneer in the production of funeral equipment in Montenegro. The company manufactures coffins and tombstones from quality materials such as cork, beech and poplar wood. Thanks to modern technology and skilled craftsmen, MIT Berane guarantees the high quality of its products, which are recognized on the market. In addition to the production, the company also sells funeral equipment through its "Pogrebno Šćekić" store. Tradition and commitment to quality make MIT a leader in the funeral equipment industry in the region.

AR Wood
founded in 2013, is specialized in primary and semi-final processing of beech wood. The company produces high-quality solid beech wood furniture, including beds and headboards, with a focus on exporting to EU countries such as Austria, Germany and England. AR WOOD is equipped with modern technology for thermal treatment of wood, including steaming and drying, which makes it possible to achieve top product quality. Their commitment to quality and modern technology makes them a reliable partner in the woodworking industry.
The executive team
The executive team consists of dynamic and dedicated professionals with many years of experience in the wood industry, management and project development. Their main role is operational management of the Association and implementation of strategic plans, with a special focus on innovation, sustainability and growth of business opportunities for its members.
In addition to daily activities, the Executive Team is dedicated to the development and implementation of EU projects, which provide additional opportunities for improving technologies, increasing competitiveness and adopting sustainable practices. Through the cooperation with European partners, the team ensures that members of the Association have access to financial resources and new markets, thus contributing to the further strengthening of the Montenegrin wood industry.
The executive team consists of:
- Miloje Bakić – expert in the field of management, strategic planning and communication
- Nikša Bulatović – expert in the preparation and management of EU projects, economic analyzes and business processes
- Darko Bubanja – expert in operational process management, innovation development and promotion.
Annual reports
Annual reports of the Association provide an insight into activities, achievements and financial results of the cluster during the previous two years. By these reports, cluster members, partners and the general public can follow the progress in the implementation of the strategic objectives defined in the founding documents of the Association.
