The project “We will learn to make furniture”

The objective of the project is to increase employment by training unemployed persons with the aim of increasing their key competencies, skills, and consequetly efficiency in the labor market.

The result of the project includes the conducted trainings, after which a certain number of participants were given the opportunity to find permanent employment.

The implemented activities include:

  • Training with the employment of 20 trainees throughout the territory of Montenegro, in one of the final wood processing companies,
  •  

    10 unemployed persons have undergone two months of training for carpenters at the Training Center,

  •  

    Round table where the problems and opportunities of the wood industry were discussed,

  •  

    Additional training on CNC machines for trainees,

  •  

    Additional training on entrepreneurship for participants.

Dissemination and promotion included numerous activities. In addition to the classic models of promotion on social networks, additional activities included:

  • Leaflet with information about wood industry companies, their production program, and participants,
  • Production of promotional pieces of furniture and souvenirs by the companies in which the training was organised. These items were donated to the Home for children without care in Bijela and the Old People’s Home in Bijelo Polje,
  • Awarding of certificates to training participants.

The total value of the project was EUR 133,225.60.  The project was financed by the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare of Montenegro – Directorate for Finance and Contracting of EU Funds.

This project was implemented as a part of a wider project “We will learn to make furniture”, through the Joint EU-MNE Program for Employment, Education and Social Protection and within the program “Implementation of training and education for deficit occupations” IPA II – Multiannual action program for Montenegro on employment, education and social policy (2015-2017): EuropeAid/171432/ID/ACT/ME.
